PhD candidate in Civil, Environmental and Materials Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), Italy
Victorien Bienvenu Abanda Well is a PhD candidate in Civil, Environmental and Materials Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), Italy. His research focuses on sustainable cementitious and ceramic materials, with particular emphasis on alkali-activated binders and geopolymers derived from industrial by-products and waste streams. His work combines advanced experimental characterization with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies to support the development of low-carbon construction materials and promote circular economy principles.
Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, Victorien gained several years of professional experience in the construction and cement industries in Cameroon, holding positions in environmental engineering, quality management, and sustainability. At Dangote Cement Cameroon, he contributed to the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of ISO management systems related to quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety.
Victorien has authored and co-authored several scientific publications in the fields of environmental engineering and sustainable construction materials. He has also presented his research at international scientific events, including the Non-Traditional Cement Conference (NTCC 2026) and the Study Day on Ceramic Materials held in Italy in 2026. His research interests include the valorization of industrial waste, sustainable cement technologies, ceramic materials, and their contribution to the transition toward a low-carbon and resource-efficient society.
As the Young Ceramists Network (YCN) Representative for Cameroon, he is committed to strengthening connections among young researchers, students, and professionals in the field of ceramics. He actively promotes international collaboration and encourages greater participation of African young scientists within the European ceramics community.
