Avnee Chauhan is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Fun Glass – Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass, Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, Slovakia. She completed her joint PhD at Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín and the University of Padova, Italy, in 2025. Her research focuses on high-entropy oxides, advanced ceramic processing, defect chemistry, and the development of functional ceramics for energy and environmental applications.
Her academic journey has been shaped by international research collaborations and mobility experiences across Europe. She conducted research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS), Germany, supported by a JECS Mobility Grant, and is currently undertaking a research stay at the University of Limoges, France, supported by the France Excellence Scholarship. Her work combines innovative ceramic synthesis and processing techniques with advanced characterization to understand the relationships between composition, microstructure, defects, and functional properties.
Beyond her research, Avnee is actively involved in scientific collaborations, mentoring students, and participating in international conferences and professional development activities. She values the opportunities that international mobility and interdisciplinary research provide for both scientific and personal growth.
As the YCN Representative for India, Avnee aims to strengthen connections between young ceramic researchers in India and the international ceramics community. She hopes to promote scientific exchange, increase awareness of research and mobility opportunities, and encourage collaborations across institutions and countries.
